Stephen Webster, founder of Glasgow Street Outreach was the guest speaker for the April Outreach Dinner last night. Stephen is originally from Inverness but now lives in Glasgow. He briefly shared his story of becoming a Christian in his teens at a gospel meeting in a school in Inverness. His life was totally transformed from a life of drugs, drink and crime.
He founded GSO in 1994 to reach out to people on the streets of Glasgow, in particular, the homeless. The aim is to build relationships with hurting people, leading them to find true life in Jesus Christ. Over the years many people have been greatly affected by Stephen’s ministry. He released a book “Glasgow Street Outreach – Celebrating 20 Years on the City Streets” which chronicles the first two decades of the ministry, with details of their encounters with people on the streets of Glasgow.
Stephen shared a powerful gospel message, telling people that God desires to have a personal relationship with them and that Jesus death and resurrection have made this possible. A number of people responded to the gospel at the end of the meeting.
