“The Dream” is a historical drama, based on actual events that took place in 1st Century Judea which caused momentous political and religious upheaval. The story is told from the viewpoint of Procula, wife of Pontius Pilate. As she recounts episodes in her past, we are transported back to relive events that profoundly influenced world history.
The play’s title relates to a disturbing experience Procula had as her husband cross-examined a particular Jewish teacher. She told Pilate, “Have nothing to do with that righteous Man, for I have suffered much because of Him today in a dream.”
At the climax, five people face a painful dilemma concerning this seemingly insignificant teacher from Galilee. Just who is this man Jesus and what should they do about Him?
