The Ministry to the Senior Citizens has seen fruit from the labour - Psalm 126 v 6: "He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."
There has not been one month go by without someone coming to know Jesus as their own Lord and Saviour. Our work amongst the Senior Citizens involves:

Over 200 Senior citizens from sheltered accommodation, nursing homes and their own homes celebrated the 60th meeting of the popular senior citizen's luncheon at the luncheon held in January 2009. The format for the luncheon is very simple- a two course lunch followed by a time of singing – and guest speaker. In the past five years we’ve had speakers from many different backgrounds; - doctors, nurses, investment managers, missionaries, teachers, engineers, farmers, housewives, evangelists and ministers – people from home and abroad. Although from many different backgrounds they al have one thing in common – they have all met with the Living Lord Jesus and their lives have been wondrously transformed. At each luncheon, the senior citizens are encouraged to receive information on what it means to be a Christian – to be Born Again. On one occasion 20 packs were handed out.
Early in 2007, we realised that many of the senor citizens were looking for direction and teaching from the Word of God. As Jesus Himself said - Go ye into all the world and make disciples. We started a midweek Bible Fellowship Hour with some 15 senior citizens attending the first meeting.
Today those numbers are now over 50- - with a real hunger to know more about God. One lovely lady attends the meeting then on returning home shares the message with her 94 year old neighbour - as Jesus Himself declared Matthew 10 : 8:
"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils, freely ye have received, freely give."
It is also a group that enjoys a wee bit of fun – with great days out for food and fellowship. Each week teams from Perth Christian Fellowship take services in 8 sheltered housing complexes and nursing homes around Perth with a waiting list of new homes to be visited.
For many tenants this is the only opportunity to attend a service and many of the seniors now look upon the Sunday services as being their Church.
Each week the Gospel is proclaimed in song, testimony and the Word of God and not a month goes by without someone coming to know Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
Isaiah 55 : 11: "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
In 2008 we started a midweek service in Louisebrae Nursing Home. Senior citizens from the luncheon and weekly fellowship hour actively get involved in this service and there is a waiting list of additional homes for us to visit.
