| In 2003, a small group of ministers started meeting for prayer, feeling that God was calling them to pray for revival in the nation of Scotland. By word of mouth, the numbers started to grow as more pastors and ministers aligned themselves to the cause of laying hold of God to visit our land. |
From a monthly gathering in Perth, demand from other areas means that there are now prayer meetings each month in Glasgow and Inverness as well. Initially, there were 12 ministers involved. Now, there are 500 associated with the “Prayer for Revival” lunches, representing every denomination across the Christian traditions. Baptists praying with Presbyterians, Episcopalians in fellowship with Pentecostals – where the brethren dwell together in unity, there the Lord commands the blessing. Following the prayer time, the ministers will chat over lunch and then be inspired, encouraged or challenged by a guest speaker. The primary purpose of these meetings is to pray for revival in the nation. Many ministers, though, have been very encouraged by attending. One minister we know of came to the meeting with his resignation letter in his pocket, ready to post. After the meeting, he tore it up. His church has seen fantastic growth since then.
