Our May Outreach Dinner Meeting was held on Monday 7. Pastor David Meldrum from Edinburgh was guest speaker. Before David shared his story, PWAMM’s in-house Southern Gospel group “Gospel Road” performed two songs, “Redemption” and “This World is not My Home”. David briefly told his journey of becoming a Christian. He grew up going to church until he was a teenager, when he got a Sunday job. While at St.Andrews University he met an American girl and got to know her really well. Over the next months he traveled over to America to see her, meet her parents and eventually plan their marriage.
After coming home from his first trip to the US he was invited to an evangelistic meeting, which he had no intention of going to. However, he ended up being there and hearing the Gospel. David wrestled for days with what he had heard about having a personal relationship with Jesus. He borrowed a Bible from a fellow student, and read most of the Gospel accounts. That night he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ.
He fell in love with God’s Word and read it constantly, seeking God’s will for his life. He ended the relationship with the American girl, knowing that ultimately God’s way was the right way for him.
