After two months of summer break the Outreach Dinners restarted this month, with PWAMM’s in house ‘Southern Gospel’ style band as the guests. Over 150 people booked in to enjoy a two course meal and hear uplifting gospel music. Gospel Road have performed at a few dinner meetings over the years, and each time they try to introduce some new songs to their set. This year was no exception with notable additions, such as an upbeat rendition of MercyMe’s “Finally Home”, a blues rock style “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” and a slower version of the classic “When The Roll is Called Up Yonder”. Old faithfuls like “Old Account” and “I Was There When It Happened” always go down really well.
The group closed with “When We All Get To Heaven”, and Barry Brannen, who takes care of the percussion side of things, closed the meeting with a short gospel message, exhorting people to accept Christ as their Saviour while they still have time.
Gospel Road also performed at the Senior Citizens Outreach Lunches on Tues 4th and Wed 5th.
